Fourth Of July Cold Open
SPEAKER_01Seventeen seventy six. Okay, I'll put some like little flutey music in there too. So happy fourth of July, everybody.
SPEAKER_03Happy Fourth of July, Mary.
SPEAKER_01Two fifty anniversary birthday, whatever in this thing. And I gotta tell you, I am.
SPEAKER_00The Missusquinnial. Yes.
SPEAKER_01The sesquetnial. What?
SPEAKER_00It's a it's called the it's called the Susquinnial? Semi I'm gonna look it up. It's got some crazy name.
SPEAKER_01Okay. I'll I'll believe you. The sesquinnial. That's a bigger one.
SPEAKER_00It's the semi-quincentennial.
SPEAKER_01Right. Semi-quintennial.
SPEAKER_00Sestercennial.
SPEAKER_01Wow. Sure.
SPEAKER_00Quarter quarter quarter millennial.
SPEAKER_01Oh, the quarter millennial. I guess.
SPEAKER_00The quarter means half. Sesqui means one and a half. Semi quig quinquinctennial.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, don't hurt yourself. Oh jeez.
SPEAKER_02We've got a long podcast. Don't spare your tongue.
SPEAKER_01Seriously. And my and my iPhone's dying. So I don't know. Well, we gotta hurry. Oh, we gotta blow through that.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh. Hurry, hurry.
SPEAKER_01Well, my opening this week is not nearly as interesting as it was last week. Oh, right. No damage to the house. My wife did want me to preface it with the next morning. She did get up, and after she found out from my son what had happened, she did go through with like a bleach vinegar mix and cleaned everything again after I had cleaned it. That's it.
SPEAKER_02Double clean perfect.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, sanitized, everything was. I was worried. Yeah, no, we're worried. Yeah. So after I cleaned it, she went back through and cleaned everything with bleach. All good.
SPEAKER_00Thank goodness.
SPEAKER_01So tonight we ordered McDonald's DoorDash, and I don't order DoorDash that often because I don't like paying all the extra fees
DoorDash Chicken Goes Missing
SPEAKER_01when I'm not that lazy that I can't go get it on my own. Right. Because it's not that funny. Exactly. And so, but tonight was one of those nights where my wife's like, ah, just order something because we were we're actually recording earlier because Joanne has a heart out. Yes, gotta fly. So she's gotta go pick up Mark at the airport. So we were recording earlier, so we, you know, were kind of rushed on our sides, you know, getting dinner on the table, getting my dad taken care of, blah, blah, blah, that stuff. And so we ordered DoorDash and ordered McDonald's. Right. And they send the order, and it's missing my son's chicken sandwich and my daughter's 10-piece chicken nuggets.
SPEAKER_02You had the problem with the nuggets last time.
SPEAKER_01This is not the first time I've been missing chicken nuggets from this specific McDonald's that they've got to do.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I feel like I've heard this before.
SPEAKER_01Exactly, because it's the same McDonald's that has done this before. And like they put the dipping sauce in, but they didn't put the 10-piece nugget in.
SPEAKER_0010-piece nuggets, that's a lot of chicken.
SPEAKER_01That is a lot of chicken to be like, yeah. So I go on to the DoorDash app because there's only that's the only way you can contact them to let you know something was missing from the thing. And I get, you know, the AI DoorDash chat bot. Oh, geez. How can we help you this afternoon or this evening? Blah, blah, blah. I hope your order went well. Well, did something happen? And I'm like, no, missing items. Hold on while I look into that. Oh, good too. And wait and wait and wait and hold on. Okay, yes, I have your order here. What items were you missing? And I'm like, chicken sand crispy chicken sandwich and tin-piece nuggets. Wow, I bet you were really looking forward to that. I'm so sorry you're disappointed by not having those. We can get you a refund of $14.93. And I'm like, yeah, but my kids still don't fucking have dinner. Right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I want my nuggies.
SPEAKER_01Want your food. Want my chicken nuggies.
SPEAKER_00Chicken nuggies. Chicken.
SPEAKER_01AIs know that. You gotta feed the kitties. Right. And that it's like the fact that you've now forgot my kids' food twice and anyway. That's that's all my bitching for the week. I'm I was keeping it shortcut.
SPEAKER_02I know they put the dipping sauces in. But didn't they need sauce?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and they're missing whole chicken. And the sticker down the side of the bag, the first thing listed at the top is 10-piece nuggets. Oh, maybe.
SPEAKER_00I wonder if they were going to come fresh from the oven.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and they were just like. I don't know. The bag was sealed up by the DoorDash driver, so uh he didn't mess with them. Right. That's good. Or the chicken sandwich that wasn't there. Right.
SPEAKER_00So something's going on with the chicken.
SPEAKER_01Seriously. Frickin' McDonald's. What about you doing? Speaking of chickens. Did you have anything fun this week? Oh, the chickens.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. Thinking, oh my god. Okay, so my friend is moving. My neighbor and my friend is moving to Idaho. Okay. And they don't want to transport the chickens.
SPEAKER_01So you're getting the chickens. Oh no, really.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So we were discussing the chickens last week, and she's like, I have 14 chickens and one rooster. And the rooster is Barney, and he's been there forever.
SPEAKER_03Of course.
SPEAKER_00And she loves him. I'm like, I don't think I can take 14 chickens. First of all, I'm supposed to have 10.
Chicken Adoption Meets A Fox
SPEAKER_00You can't have more than 10. She's got 14. Nobody cares. But I'm like, knowing me, I would get a violation letter because I had four chickens too many. Of course. She's like, well, maybe I can split them up. I'm like, that'd be great. I can, I think I can do seven chickens. She said, but please, can you take Barney? I'm like, yes, we will take Barney. So that was Thursday.
SPEAKER_01Seven plus Barney or six and Barney. Seven plus Barney. Total eight. Okay.
SPEAKER_00So on Sunday, she texted me and she's like, I only have eight chickens. Eight, six chickens. No. What are you chickens? The fox.
SPEAKER_02Oh, fox. Oh, wow. Yes. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_00Like, how is this fox getting in? Is it like climbing the fence? Then I find out that they go under the fence. So you have to put like this protective thing and stakes, and my other neighbor has like this whole scheme to keep them out.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Then on Monday, she texts me, the fox got Barney. Oh no. She's devastated.
SPEAKER_02Wow. Yeah, I can imagine.
SPEAKER_00So now I don't have to take the roostar. Well, okay, but so far I'm down to eight. But I feel so bad for them because Barney, I mean, he had the name.
SPEAKER_01The other chickens we're just chicken one and two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
SPEAKER_00They have names, but they named the chicken the same name. Like all the white ones have one name, all the brown ones have one. Well, that's one other name. Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_02And Joe.
SPEAKER_00So there's only like four names for the chickens.
SPEAKER_02So they'd be female names, but yeah. But there's Alice.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. So that's speaking of Bernadette. That's what happens.
SPEAKER_02Bernadette. Wow. Well, that's kind of crazy. That is. Whoosh. Well, there's one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, keep us posted on the chicken. That'll be some good content.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_01Whoosh. So, Dave, what about you?
SPEAKER_02I was Mr. Successful. I'm just saying that I am. No, I did not. And I also solved all of my problems. I got the power washer working. I sent you guys the video of that. Um, I replaced an entire carburetor. So if um your oldest needs help the carburetor. With carburetors, I can do those on small engines, unfortunately, just small engines. And um and just today I had two successes. I replaced all the weather stripping in the front door uh and got that all sealed up, but also in uh replaced the uh locking
DIY Victories And Quick Corrections
SPEAKER_02mechanisms on the door because we had some problems with it for the time. Safety work? Um well I was doing this, it's just in my lunch break. I swear, one hour I did it during my lunch. I left at 11:30, and by one o'clock I was done because I had a 1.30 meeting with my manager.
SPEAKER_00You did that light bulb really quickly. I was really impressed.
SPEAKER_02Well, I know how to pull those apart, so I got kind of lucky, and then none of the wiring was destroyed. It was just a bad socket, which is weird. I I've never had like those little sockets, they don't look like much. I mean, there's just two wires going into a ceramic thing, but the I guess it had a disconnect inside it, and it just stopped, and I just replaced it with one that I had and I just rewired it together. It wasn't that bad. It was it was pretty quick, and I I stripped the wire and taped it, and it's it works. Yeah, I was like, yeah, I was surprised to be honest. Again, I was thinking, okay, I missed something, something I I didn't get right. And it was the same with the carburetor, too, because it just started right up with one pole, and I was just floored when that happened. So that was kind of funny. But yeah, so there we go. Cool. And you did we have corrections this week? Oh, we have a couple. I have three here. Um, the first cable network uh was operated in London and Berlin in 1936, ahead of the Olympics. Wow. And it was a closed network, so it was kind of one of those things where it was broadcast through those televisions. And then um, yeah, and HBO was um, you know, we we had when it was uh started, so that was pretty cool. Uh in 72. So yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I remembered, I think listening back to the episode that when it was like early, like 80, 81-ish, and we had HBO, and it was literally a set-top box that you know plugged out of the wall to the cable and then plugged into the TV, and all you got was HBO.
SPEAKER_02That's why it was called Home Box Office.
SPEAKER_01Right, exactly. So you didn't have all the other channels like cable until a couple years later when that got introduced. But it was originally just, yeah, HBO, just home box office.
SPEAKER_02Well HBO and Cinemax was the first multi-tiered system. Yeah. Uh and that was in 75. So crazy. I know, right? That's cool.
SPEAKER_01Crazy how far we've come to streaming today. So Will Chamberlain. Will Chamberlain, hundred thousand or ten thousand women. It was twenty. Oh, he I thought in his book he said ten.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so in his book, he had a calculation where he was making tick marks for every woman he slept with, and over a 23-day period. I'm sorry, over a 10-day period, he had 20, he had said he'd been with 23 women. So in that calculation, he put it out as to how many days I was alive. Right. So he put it out there that it was 20K. So it turns out the calculation he was making was 20K. Right. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Whatever, dude. Uh-huh. Yeah, you'd burn out. Right. Um, but he you did you know he played for the Harlem Goat Charters? Yeah. I think I didn't. I didn't know that. That was amazing. That was cool. I read about that. And then um, oh yeah, we were talking about Fuch. Fuke. Everything that was happening in Fuch. Uh Lisa uh found her uh a wallpaper that consists of cryptids all over it. And so now we might think about decorating the uh basement uh bathroom with that wallpaper. Will you? Yes, and I'll get you some pictures too, because it is awesome. It had uh it had Bigfoot on it, it had Mothman, it had Loch Ness, had a couple of others. I can't remember what they were the one that she found, and she found the distributor that has it, so we may be having a couple rolls of that uh delivered to them.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. And when I do, I'll get you some pictures. That would be so cool.
SPEAKER_02I'll post it on the uh Instagram. Cool.
SPEAKER_01So there we go. That's all I had. Oh, I watched uh with my son, you know how we watched Terminator and Terminator 2 a couple weeks ago. This past Friday we watched Escape from New York. Oh, right the classic. Yes, which we had never seen and he had never seen, and I was like, So did you like it? And he goes, Yeah, it was good. I was like, all right, cool. And then I was like, Yeah, I have a snake bliskin minifig. And uh I showed him on my desk. He goes, Oh, that looks just like him. I'm like, I know, right? That's why I ordered him because I got a snake bliskin minifig.
SPEAKER_02So Yeah, so now Escape from LA.
SPEAKER_01No, I told him, I said, I will I will
Movie Night Reviews And Rants
SPEAKER_01save you.
SPEAKER_02I think the worst from LA was a scene that I think was the basketball scene. Yes, he was throwing the basketball scene. It made absolutely no sense. I mean, I understand what they were going for, but it made no sense. And then the surfing one was just the visual on that one.
SPEAKER_01I just tried to block all of it from my memory.
SPEAKER_02So that okay, well, so you don't have to watch it that I guess.
SPEAKER_01So oh, but also during the day on Friday, we went and saw Toy Story 5.
SPEAKER_02Oh, and what's the instant review?
SPEAKER_01It's not my favorite in the series. Oh, well, okay, okay. And it was just kind of there.
SPEAKER_03Oh.
SPEAKER_01Um, and the Taylor Swift song is not in the movie, it's the in-credit song. Oh, you're kidding. So um, because Joanna said it said it was in it, but it's not. It's actually the in-credit song. Oh. Uh it's great to see Buzz and Woody and the gang together again, as always. I mean, it's always uh, but it was just kind of like around too. You know how in in one and two and even into three, like, you know, when they're out and they're in trouble out in like the real world, and you're like, oh my gosh, are they gonna get back? How are they gonna get back? Or like, you know, and there's there's that anticipation of there's like that element of danger involved, you know, for the toys. Yeah, they do that again in this, and it's like, well, we know we know she's gonna get back.
SPEAKER_00So because we've heard the song.
SPEAKER_01Or exactly. This is the fifth one. We know that yeah, that just's gonna make it back at the end.
SPEAKER_02So they make it damn.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So I it was it was just eh. Again, not my favorite in the series.
SPEAKER_02So, not like any real uh series lately that where any main character could get killed. It's it didn't didn't have any surprises or anything like that.
SPEAKER_01It felt like a third movie in the series. So going back into history, think of all the third movies in the series like Back to the Future 3, just eh. It was uh the third Lord of the Rings, eh, just eh. Uh Return of the Jedi, just eh. Uh uh Lethal Weapon 3, just eh. Yeah, like the third movie in the series is always just eh. Yeah, always trying to tie that, aren't they? Right, right. But it was the fifth. Yes, right. And and they leave it very wide open for well, we'll continue this story on again with other kids in the future. Yeah, they really oh yeah, it was totally left wide open. It would there was no closure whatsoever. New toys instead of just Buzz and Woody. Well, and they have slowly introduced new toys over the past, like Spoonie.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but then how do you get all those? I well, yeah, but I think if the concept for a storyline is okay, but I would have to say that it would be better as a television show.
SPEAKER_01Maybe. And and on Disney Plus, they do have those little spin-off like shorts.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, which work with uh Forky or Spoony? What's his name? Forky Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Which is uh He's a sport, right? Yeah, he's a Spork. Yeah. And he marries a knife.
SPEAKER_02Are you kidding? Yeah, he gets married to a knife and the Skype. That's funny. That's funny.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. That's pretty much his lawfully wedded knife. Good line, good line. Um it does have funny moments like that and little funny one-liners. And it's good, it's worth seeing. A little kid would just husband. Uh it just was and for me. So sorry, Toy Story. Even though it was number one at the box office, it did 170 million, uh 400 million worldwide. I mean, it's you know, it'll it'll probably get to a billion mark worldwide. Right. So, I mean, it was still a good Pixar movie, but just well, I saw Hoppers. Oh, Hoppers, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Lisa and I watched that. Okay. And it was it was a better thing. Was that a Dreamworks or was that a Disney? That was Disney. Okay. And it was better than I thought it was gonna be. Um, as far as the story was pretty it was, it was pretty funny as far as what the storyline was and uh and how it played out, but um it still had that weird uh, I guess predictable to it story. Yeah, it's kind of like you know, kind of where it was going just because there wasn't any kind of mystery or or uh we were we were solving anything or breaking ground or anything like that. It just kind of was a thing, so yeah. But it was it was a good waste of time, I guess. But yeah.
SPEAKER_01Gotcha. All right, are we ready to get into historically 1776? I am so ready. Are we ready? I'm so excited. I'm serious. I'm gonna get I'm gonna get some little like flute music coming. Oh, you should every time every time we mention it, then we'll go good. 1776 and then all music arts. Of course. So I have the first topic, which is fun and games.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Nice.
SPEAKER_01Yes. So the fun and games back then, the the majority of the stuff was really like pub games, like
Colonial Games And Sports In 1776
SPEAKER_01you know, um checkers and chess and card games. Oh, okay. That was that was really the big thing. Right. Um, so trapball was one of the inventions. It was like a bat and a ball, so it was the precursor for like baseball.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. Hey, I have sports.
SPEAKER_01Oh, but I was fun in games. Yes. So this was a game. Okay, then I'll let Joanne talk about trap ball.
SPEAKER_00No, I don't I don't think I was gonna do that. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01Anyway, so so you what you do is you have a wooden lever and you hit it with your foot and to trap it on the ground, and it shoots the ball up into the air, and then you swing and hit it. Oh, so it's like your own T-ball set. Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_02Yes, I had one of those.
SPEAKER_01That's cool. They had a horseshoe that was popular. It was called Colts, Q-U-O-L-T-S, but it was became what became horseshoes. Playing horseshoes was. Right. Uh and it was yes, because it was wealthy colonists who would use heavy iron rings while children would use uh rope, leather, or tree branches.
SPEAKER_02We graduated to jarts, but yes.
SPEAKER_01To jarts, yeah, exactly. Uh the game of graces, it's a game designed to promote graceful posture. That sounds really fun.
SPEAKER_02Wow, it's almost as fun as my embroidery.
SPEAKER_01There's also nine pins. Nine pins was an early form of bowling played on grass or on a tabletop with small wooden pins. Lawn bowling, yeah. Nice. There you go. Adults often played card games, yeah, and dice, dice games.
SPEAKER_03Of course.
SPEAKER_01Uh board games like checkers and chess and backgammon were common. Um and because toys didn't exist, toys were either brought from Europe or made in the home from scraps.
SPEAKER_02Wow, really? The dolls and everything? Yeah. Apparently. Well, they weren't sold, right? Because selling in a general store was more uh fundamental. Like you needed essential dolls. Right.
SPEAKER_01And the clothes were fashioned in dolls with buttonings and little strings made, you know.
SPEAKER_02I think in Williamsburg you can actually do that.
SPEAKER_01You can make the dolls out of the yeah. So yeah, and it says that uh Colonial Williamsburg, you can also get live demonstrations and interactive play on all of the games and things like that.
SPEAKER_02And the hoop and stick, because that was a hoop and stick, baby.
SPEAKER_01It's all about how far you can get that hoop to go.
SPEAKER_02Yes, at least I was saying that. That's my sport.
SPEAKER_01Hoop and stick. Hoop and stick.
SPEAKER_00Hoop and stick.
SPEAKER_01Yes. All right, Joannes, hit us with the sports then, since I stole a couple of yours with my fun and games.
SPEAKER_00It's so exciting.
SPEAKER_01Or 77. 1776.
SPEAKER_00The popular sports in 1776 were horse racing, cricket, because you know we came from England. Right. Bare knuckle boxing, yes, and shooting matches. Yes, of course. Basically, people wanted to kill each other.
SPEAKER_02Well, it was just battle, right? One of the things.
SPEAKER_00You gotta battle it out. So we did have the the ball and stick, which we've talked about. It was a forerunner to hockey, did you know?
SPEAKER_01Oh, I didn't know. That makes sense, though.
SPEAKER_00Forerunner to hockey.
SPEAKER_01So it's fine.
SPEAKER_00Also um an unstructured variation of football and soccer.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00Nice. So everything goes back to hoop and stick.
SPEAKER_02Hoop and stick. Just run hoop and stick.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm sorry, I lie. Cricket. I just read that. Cricket was a forerunner. That makes more sense. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Not not hoop and stick. My bad.
SPEAKER_02Although hoop and stick. Definitely a running function. Yes. Yes. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00It's fine motor skills. The combat sports, the boxing, cockfighting, and quarter mile horse racing.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_00They also did foot races. Have you seen like old movies about that? They just race each other for fun. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Just to go for a run. And we're like, here, I'll race you down to this light post and back. Always a competition.
SPEAKER_00We used to do that actually in the 70s, so maybe we haven't evolved that far.
SPEAKER_02Maybe we did that for the Is that after you played Kick the Can and Ghost in the Graveyard? 1770s. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Maybe in seven in 1976 for the not sussequent whatever it was called then. The bicentennial.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01Not the quintupletism. No. A lot of cues. A lot of cups.
SPEAKER_00So in the um on the frontier and in the military camps is where they had the shooting matches and shooting drills. And it was for daily survival, but also for recreation.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00So there you go. Those were our popular sports.
SPEAKER_01All right, Dave, you've got dead or alive. Oh my goodness. So who was dead and who they're all dead now. They're all dead now, yes. So we can't really get into that.
SPEAKER_02So we I have where they we started with there were born. What I thought was funny was I was I was looking this up, but there weren't any Americans on the most important list. Of course not. Of people born. Like of people born in 1776. Well, yeah, but it it didn't like say uh this person, American such and such, was born on such and such. I didn't see any of those in there, which was I thought was kind of funny. I was like, well, well, what? We were bearing children, it just they didn't show up as American
Born And Died Names From 1776
SPEAKER_02in the list for some reason.
SPEAKER_00Or they weren't no one popular.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, maybe they just yeah, we weren't we weren't bore uh birthing anyone who did anything.
SPEAKER_00Um we were birthing a nation.
SPEAKER_02Well Louise, uh Queen of Prussia, was born. Uh we also had Thadius. Or Prussia. Uh Prussia. Prussia. Prussia. Prussia. What did I say? You said Prussia. Did I say Prussia? You said it right, and then I asked if it was Persia or Prussia. Oh, but yeah, that's a totally different country. Oh, okay. Um Thaddeus Weigel. Oh God. Uh German Austrian composer was born that uh that year. And Simon Frazier, the Canadian explorer slash fur trader. Oh. There weren't a lot of people that I could choose from. I mean, a lot of them were all politicians and things, and I was just kind of going for the most obscure. Um, but we did have a bunch of people that passed, unfortunately. Uh John Harrison, uh, the English carpenter and clockmaker who invented the marine chronometer. Okay. This measured longitude on boats.
SPEAKER_00Oh, we didn't need that for our leap second.
SPEAKER_01I don't think so.
SPEAKER_02No. Oh, oh, clockmaker. Is that where you were going with that?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh no, this was a different uh this was to measure the longitude uh while you're at sea. So you can on your maps.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02Um, Anton de Hain, oh God, uh, Austrian medical expert. He wrote Ratio Medina, which was the foundational guide for hospital practices. Um basically showing the documented patient case histories, treatments, and medical outcomes.
SPEAKER_00Hey, that's very useful.
SPEAKER_02It was basically a guideline, uh, I guess a user's guide on how to how to run a hospital. Um, David Hume, uh, the Scottish philosopher and historian, he wrote the Treatise of Human Nature, which provides the experiment experimental method of understanding human nature, saying I've heard of him. If you're arguing that all knowledge comes from experience and that passion, not reason, drive human action.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Okay. I think that's a good thing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, right, right? Exactly. Well, he passed, unfortunately. And then Nathan Hale. Do you know who this is? This was an American patriot, but do you know his famous saying?
SPEAKER_01No, but is he related to Hale, the guy who voiced Sporky in the Toy Story?
SPEAKER_02Sporky, no. I well, I don't know. He could, right? H-A-L-E? Yeah. Yeah. Um, I don't know, he could. Uh his famous saying was, I only have one regret that I have but one life to live for my country.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yes. Okay. Oh, that gives me chills again.
SPEAKER_02He and that was while he was being hung as a British spy. Gotcha. So there you go.
SPEAKER_00As a British spy or as an American spy.
SPEAKER_02He was an American spy in Britain. The British hung him. Yeah, okay. I gotcha.
SPEAKER_00He was the good spy.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_01Gotcha.
SPEAKER_02Spy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Cool.
unknownAll right.
SPEAKER_01Was that it for your for your deadline? That is. That is who I have. All right, cool. I have myths and urban legends as my second topic, which I just stuck with myths. I didn't even get into urban legends because I had so many myths that were that were put out there. Yes.
SPEAKER_00And there were no there was no urban.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was just this would be rural legends.
SPEAKER_01Right. Rural legends. The rural legends at this point. Well, Dave sent me one, and it was in 1776 was when the headless horseman Oh Gow.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, when supposedly a soldier got hit in the head with a cannonball and it took his head off. Yep. And
Fourth Of July Myths Debunked
SPEAKER_01hence became the headless horseman, and then the whole Sleepy Hollow thing and the book. Super cool. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It took his head off. He was buried without his head. Yeah. I love the song from the movie. From the cartoon, the Disney uh uh that he's looked he's uh oh god damn it. The Sleepy Hollow with uh Ichabod Crane, they did the whole cartoon. Oh, okay. I love that. Sure. It's a good song. There's a song in a big crossby sings. It's awesome.
SPEAKER_01I'll send you the link. Okay, other myths that happened in 1776.
SPEAKER_03Please add that in every time you say 1776.
SPEAKER_01I think you have to. Um that the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4th. Yay! So that's a myth because the delegates at the Continental Congress signed the Declaration of Independence on the 4th of July, is the myth. The reality is Congress adopted the document on July 4th, but it was primarily a broadside printed in public notice. The actual signing did not occur until August 2nd of 1776, when the delegates added delegates added their names and endorsed uh yeah.
SPEAKER_02Right. Yep. That's not a good thing. Because it was our declaration was on the 4th of July.
SPEAKER_01And then also another myth is that the Liberty Bell rang out from Pennsylvania State House in Philadelphia to announce the signing of the declaration on the fourth. That is a myth. The reality is historians find it highly unlikely the steeple housing the bell was badly rotted and the bell itself would crack years later in 1835. The story was popularized decades later in children's books. Right.
SPEAKER_00I've never heard that before.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we gave them a symbol.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Myth that all Americans supported the revolution. The colonists were uh universally united in their hands of uh the British and the desire for total independence. The reality is the population was deeply divided. Roughly one third were Patriots wanting the independence, and one third were loyalists who supported the king. Um and the remaining third were neutral or indifferent. They probably voted for pro.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I was going to say kind of like everything we do. No one can agree.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly. Oh, of course. Well, that kind of that's human nature. Uh there's other boring political stuff, but you know how I love political stuff. So war over taxes and George Washington was flawless in his teeth. Yeah, exactly. And you know, whatever. Washington lost more battles than he won. Yes, I did hear that. I'm not uh I'm not a history buff. My son is, though. Oh my god, what is it? Is he?
SPEAKER_02Where is he tonight? Yes, seriously. Yes, he could have put in his little added uh added treats.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. So anyway, so that was there was the big stuff. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, and then it was just American independence, nowhere.
SPEAKER_01American history, yeah, absolutely. The the 13 colonies acted as a unified block. That was a myth. Uh there were technically only 12 rebelling colonies in 1775. Delaware was part legally part of Pennsylvania, known as the Lower Countries.
SPEAKER_00I didn't know that. Weren't they the first state, though? They were the first state, Delaware.
SPEAKER_01Until it was assimilated declared separation in June 15, 1776. Yeah, becoming an independent state less than a month before the declaration. Wow.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01There you go. And it was called lower even though it was. I know, you almost fallen asleep there. I am not youth and wake up stick. Yeah. That was my sports. I'm on the edge of my seat. It is for Joanne's on the edge of her seat.
SPEAKER_00I'm on the edge of my seat.
SPEAKER_01Ooh, entertainment. Or you're a history buff, too. Yeah. Uh so Joanne has entertainment next. Yeah, yeah. What kind of entertainment were what ways to be entertained besides wheel and stick?
SPEAKER_00Well, officially. Officially, we were not allowed to be entertained in 1776. Oh, really? Because formal theater was banned by the Continental Congress.
SPEAKER_02It was not really. Fuck the art. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It was to promote economic frugality and unity.
Entertainment Without Official Theater
SPEAKER_00Oh. But you could get together, you know, in small groups and enjoy light operas, farces, political satires, and social entertainment. Or you could dance to traditional Celtic and English tunes.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Let's go see a let's go catch a farce. A farce.
SPEAKER_00But it this this had to be at your house or in a tavern or yeah, because there were no official theatrical venues. Yes, exactly.
SPEAKER_03Gotcha.
SPEAKER_00So the most popular play was Cato about a Roman statesman fighting for liberty against tyranny.
SPEAKER_02Of course it was, of course it was famous. Yes.
SPEAKER_00And George Washington, because it was so popular, George Washington said that the troops could put it on at Valley Forge.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_00So he was like, Yes, we can do this. Um, Mercy Otis Warren was one of America's first playwrights, and he published the political satires against the British rulers and the loyalists. So he was very popular. Um The Battle of Bunker Hill. Have you guys heard of this? I've heard of that one. So it was again a patriotic play. Oh. And it was read to build revolutionary morale. I mean, this must have been a time, right?
SPEAKER_02Right. Yes. You had to make a uh point.
SPEAKER_00It was it was a it was a time.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00Um because you couldn't be a professional musician or actor or anything like that, most of the people were who were music, they were itinerant, they had no jobs, right? So they had to rely on like local fiddlers and stuff to play tunes because you couldn't really go hear any.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. There wasn't anyone touring at that point, I guess.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So your local guy.
SPEAKER_02Not at all. Or Grateful Dead. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Your local guy on the street playing his fiddle was about all you got. Um, the minuet and the reel. Do you guys remember learning the Virginia Reel?
SPEAKER_01Not at all. Vaguely. No.
SPEAKER_00In PE? Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01I vaguely remember that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It's Virginia Reel is like uh third grade or something. We all had to learn it.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_00That was very popular. Um your local tavern was your hub of entertainment.
SPEAKER_03Was that a dance?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh. The dance.
SPEAKER_00Um, there were the singers and storytellers would perform patriotic and satirical ballads. That's all you could get. Um, but Yankee Doodle was the hit of 1776.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Number one on the show.
SPEAKER_00Yankee Doodle and his macaroni, right? Yep, yes. That's what he had. Yes.
SPEAKER_02Casey Kaesum had that as number one in 1776. Yep. Casey Gasem.
SPEAKER_00Casey Kaesum was there.
SPEAKER_02Bringing you hit 40.
SPEAKER_00I mean, it was it was just a very patriotic year, you know, and I think we should take a moment to reflect on that.
SPEAKER_01Very patriotic, yes. On the Quincy and Tupple decoration.
SPEAKER_00Quincentnial.
SPEAKER_02Right. We're all here. Exactly.
SPEAKER_00But I thought it was funny that the Continental Congress, who's all about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, banned the theater.
SPEAKER_01Right. No theater.
SPEAKER_00That just does not sound right to me.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00But it worked. The theater came back.
unknownYep.
SPEAKER_02That was economic reasons. Like they had to say, oh, well, you know what? Don't spend your money on this.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Don't have fun. You need to spend it on food and be entertaining.
SPEAKER_00Focus on the revolution.
SPEAKER_02And our taxes and war efforts. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Which I think was undermined. Yes.
unknownAll right.
SPEAKER_01So, Dave, you have current events? Oh my gosh, yes. So, are they going to be just as boring as the last two topics?
SPEAKER_02No, we're going to throw them all in here. Let's see how energy in this. Top us up. Thomas Paine published the common sense pamphlet advocating for the American independence. This was the big pamphlet that uh swayed people's opinion about what they were fighting for. Okay. Um, we also had in March the American troops began shelling the British in Boston. So that was actually shelling going on in March. Um, and then assume that I have tons of other war and independence events that occur throughout
1776 Current Events Beyond Independence
SPEAKER_02the entire year, because that was basically all that was in this list. Right. Um, but then I was trying to pick out some of the other ones. Uh German philosopher Adam Weischbupt uh founds uh found the Secret Society of the Illuminati. Oh, nice. Yeah, I thought you would have that one in myths. That was kind of cool. Uh Virginia State Constitution is adopted. Uh also the Bill of Rights, uh, the original Bill of Rights that started and became part of the U.S. Constitution started as the Virginia Bill of Rights. Oh, cool. Yeah, so that actually was also uh adopted. Um, yeah, and I also had that the uh it's showed here, the Liberty Bell rings at the Second Continental Congress, but that was a myth. It was just reported that that's how it happened, but that's kind of funny that it was in my list of current events. Right. And we had a hurricane hit uh Guadalupe and Martinique, uh, killing uh over 6,600 people and sinking 100 French and Dutch ships. Wow. So there you go. Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Were they here to help us? Uh nearby.
SPEAKER_02We hadn't gotten that because Benjamin Franklin was just on his way to France to get support. So that hadn't happened yet. Gotcha.
SPEAKER_01Cool. All right. So that was 1776.
SPEAKER_02And I know a lot more than I should about what happened over the course of that one year. So yes. A lot of history. Just hated. English and history. Just not my bag, baby.
SPEAKER_00Not my bag, baby. It's okay. We'll get back to real.
SPEAKER_01Did you hear that there years that Mike Myers has confirmed Austin Powers 4? I did hear about that. Yeah. Yes. No, no. Oh, come on.
SPEAKER_00Just like Toy Story 5. We do not need that. We don't need that.
SPEAKER_01It's been enough time. Between I think it's been enough time. Since the third one? Oh my gosh. Yeah. It's been has been 20 years old.
SPEAKER_02Another Shrek, I would be like, oh. Oh, but that is coming out.
SPEAKER_01There is another Shrek. Oh, Shrek 5 comes.
SPEAKER_02Why do we need to reservate it? Because I'm a believer. Because no one can make new. And then I saw her face. I know. Um there's I I think we
Reboots Fatigue Austin Powers Returns
SPEAKER_02original content is dead, and everything is being regurgitated and revamped and redone. It's all the same craft.
SPEAKER_01Well, it's all money in Mike Meyer's pocket. He gets a new Shrek and gets new Austin Powers.
SPEAKER_00I mean, good for him, but yes.
SPEAKER_01We get to suffer. Yes.
SPEAKER_00It better be good. These things they're bringing back like 20 years later. Yes. They they better like be Oscar worthy.
SPEAKER_01I really doubt Austin Powers 4 is going to be Oscar worthy. I don't know. Really doubt it.
SPEAKER_00Could be really doubt it.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00What are you guys doing for 4th of July?
SPEAKER_01Nothing. Chores. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. We're not going anywhere.
SPEAKER_02We're not this entire week. Associated with my uh work. What are you doing, Joanne?
SPEAKER_00Okay, so my whole neighborhood is having a party. Oh, what party? Are we invited? We should. My friend just made um America 250 Jeopardy. Oh, nice. We're gonna have food and beverages, but not alcohol, because now our HOA does not allow us to have alcohol at the pool. Oh, please. Which is another story. Just put it in a cough for
Fourth Of July Plans And HOA Rules
SPEAKER_00I think my friend Liz is gonna make homemade root beer. Oh so that'll be exciting if she doesn't.
SPEAKER_02Like they did it in 1776? Yeah, in the metal cow casts.
SPEAKER_00Yes. It's like a uh old-fashioned recipe.
SPEAKER_02I th I hear you make it in a chicken. Like a turduckin? Yes. Yes. You put it in, it ferments in the chicken and then you just squeeze the chicken. Her mom makes it rubicin. A root chicken. A root chicken.
SPEAKER_00Her mom makes it in an old milk chicken. Yeah, that's what I was saying.
SPEAKER_02An old milk can. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's cool.
SPEAKER_00So we'll we'll see. I will I will document.
SPEAKER_02Well, if anything explodes, you'll know what it wants to do.
SPEAKER_00Oh, we're also not allowed to have fireworks in our neighborhood. Oh, because the house blew up.
SPEAKER_02Oh, well, yeah, well. No. Texas, it's dry as hell.
SPEAKER_00Of our HOA.
SPEAKER_02Oh. That's awesome. Wow, your HOA is so restrictive. Yeah, seriously.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you never think we live in Texas.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, go figure.
SPEAKER_01We don't have an HOA in my neighborhood. You should move here. Oh, and there's a house right down the street for sale, Joanne. You should move in.
SPEAKER_00I might be looking at that.
SPEAKER_01So literally right down the street. Perfect.
SPEAKER_00Stand by for more HOA news as the weeks go on.
SPEAKER_02That's awesome. Yeah, and then we'll have to hear about the party too. Oh, the party. Because we have no HOAs. So our neighbors can blow up whatever they want when they're going to be able to do it.
SPEAKER_00It's bad when you have to do a place that has no rules, and then rules come into place after you've already lived there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And our neighborhood's nice. I mean, everybody has common sense.
SPEAKER_00Super nice. That's the thing.
SPEAKER_02The problem is when they don't. We have an I have an HOA and I had my neighbors, and you you've heard these wonderful stories about the chicken gate. Yep, chicken gate. Yep. Yes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean, sometimes apples everywhere, right?
SPEAKER_01True.
SPEAKER_00But it doesn't mean you have to be so restrictive that people start moving out of your neighborhood.
SPEAKER_01That's a bit much.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Did you see, did you watch Tulsa King? Not all of it. Okay. Because when he moves into this like nice neighborhood in Tulsa and like the HOAs, there's a guy that drives around on his little golf cart and like wants to fine him for having his garage door open too long and things like that. And it's just it's funny. It's like, oh, that's funny. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Did I mention we live basically on a farm?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you showed me pictures. We've seen the shoes. Or sheep or whatever they were.
SPEAKER_00So why do I need to submit a landscaping plan if I want to plant a tree?
SPEAKER_02I don't know how you're going to get your chickens in there. I don't know. I think so. I'd have to go down the street. That's what's so you can have up to 10.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I can, but I can't have a piece of my uh weed barrier showing.
SPEAKER_02Oh wow.
SPEAKER_00But I can have a chicken coop.
SPEAKER_02So if the chickens scrape off the thing and it happens to show your thing you could get a violation for.
SPEAKER_00Or the rain. The rain.
SPEAKER_02Oh, washes it away. Yes.
SPEAKER_00And the weed barrier showing that's violent.
SPEAKER_02How long do you have to fix the thing before you?
SPEAKER_00Well, it was 30 days.
SPEAKER_02Oh.
SPEAKER_00But I got an extension because we have a landscaper coming to do other work.
SPEAKER_02Oh, well, that's good. He's gonna do it for it. He's gonna do all of it. Well, that's good.
SPEAKER_00But I can have chickens and goats and sheep, but heaven forbid showing.
SPEAKER_02Nice. Yes, yes, exactly. That's always exactly. Well, you've got to look at it. It's it's again, it's one of those things where what are we protecting? You know, like what are we really going for?
SPEAKER_00But Dave, and when you come to do handyman things around my house, you can also speak in front of the board.
SPEAKER_02You're gonna have to clear that for me and my schedule.
SPEAKER_01I'll be busy for the itinerary.
SPEAKER_02I have a feeling I'll be busy. There's a water treatment facility.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna get Dave like when the weather cools off. He's just gonna come and spend a month with in the fall.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I don't think Lisa, I don't think Lisa would let him out of her sights that long. It would almost have to be an office.
SPEAKER_00Lisa can come too.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, she can just hang out. That'd be great. She'd love Texas and visions the HB.
SPEAKER_00We've got all the wine.
SPEAKER_02The itchy butt. Itchy butt.
SPEAKER_00She would love her.
unknownCool.
SPEAKER_01Do you guys want to do some trivia real quick?
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, let's do that.
SPEAKER_01So I've got a cast list up. So I'm gonna give you the names of the movies, and you've got to tell me the actor. This one I think is a little difficult. Oh, and honestly, we'd be very impressed if you guys got this. Okay. So I will let you know it is a female actor. Okay. Okay. 2006, The Illusionist. 2010, 2010. Yeah, 2010, Valentine's Day, 2004, Blade Trinity. 2012, Total Recall,
Cast Trivia And Movie Fact Checks
SPEAKER_01the newer version. And in 2007, I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry, which is Adam Sandler and uh uh what's his name? I don't have it. Can you guess it's Taylor Swift? Jessica Beale.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Jessica Beale.
SPEAKER_00I'm like trying to I was trying to think who was in Valentine's Day. That's the only one I saw, and I could not I could only think of Taylor. Right.
SPEAKER_01Okay, maybe maybe you'll get this one. Okay. 2012's The Lorax. It's a male actor. 2012 The Lorax. 2013, We're the Millers. 2015, The Vacation Reboot. Wow.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, the guy. 2018, the I don't know his name, but you know who I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_01In 2009's hit comedy, The Hangover.
SPEAKER_00I'm still not gonna know his name.
SPEAKER_01But you know, I'll throw in a bonus. He was also on The Office.
SPEAKER_00Still.
SPEAKER_02I know, I can see his face, but I don't know his name. The one that lost the tooth and the hangover. Yeah. Ed Helm. Ed Helm. Ed Helm. Ed Helm. You guys are sucking. He looks like the guy on SNL. Names are tough for me. And names are just kind of.
SPEAKER_00Doesn't he look like someone oh he looks like wait, was he was he married to what's her name? Megan Fox?
SPEAKER_01No. No, no.
SPEAKER_00Or is the other guy who's it was who? No, no, no. Before that.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I don't know. I'm not sure. Wow.
SPEAKER_00I think Ed Helms looks like somebody who is married to Megan Fox, and everyone was like, how why are they together?
SPEAKER_01I think you're thinking Jason Sudukas and Olivia Wilde.
SPEAKER_00Don't they look exactly alike?
SPEAKER_01Jason Sudekas? And Edwards? Ed Helms. No.
SPEAKER_00I always get them confused. Really?
SPEAKER_01No, one's Ted Lasso and one's it Andy from look look at them.
SPEAKER_00Look at them together.
SPEAKER_02You'd have to put them side by side. I'll do a side by side.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. That's close.
SPEAKER_00What's Ted Lasso's name?
SPEAKER_01Oh, uh Jason Seducas. Sudekas.
SPEAKER_00S S Seduco. I get them confused. To me, they look identical.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_01Seduco. Seduco. The puzzle game. Okay, you want to do some Mount Cleverist movie? True and false. Movie true and false, real quick. I'm just going to go true and false. Okay. Home al the Home Alone House is available for tours. True or false? True.
SPEAKER_00No, false.
SPEAKER_01False. The owners had it blurred on Google Maps to avoid attending. Really?
SPEAKER_00And it was just up for sale.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Oh, wow. Well then maybe the new owner will be such a stick in the mud. Gotcha. Quentin Tarantino loves Back to the Future from 1985. False. True. He considers it one of the only per seven perfect films. Others include Jaws and Annie Hall. Really? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, Annie Hall? Yeah. Interesting. Annie Hall.
SPEAKER_01I told you Annie Hall was really good. Really? I was really surprised at how good that was.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_01The song Kiss Me by Six Pense Done the Richer features in the movie She's All That from 1999. That's true. True.
SPEAKER_03Very true.
SPEAKER_01True, yes. The band's name inspired by the book called Mary Christianity by C. S. Lewis. Wow. That's a lot. Glenn Gary Glenn Ross is about whiskey distillers. No. False.
SPEAKER_00Uh no.
SPEAKER_01False. It's about a group of real estate agents. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. The lift at the end of always be closing, right?
SPEAKER_01Yes. The what?
SPEAKER_00Always be closing. Always be closing.
SPEAKER_01Sure. The lift at the end of Dirty Dancing was done in one take. False. It is true. Jennifer Gray was too afraid to rehearse it, so they did it in one take.
SPEAKER_02Oh wow.
SPEAKER_00I think I got all of those correct.
SPEAKER_01There's still one more. Oh.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01Avatar, 2009, is the highest grossing movie by box office revenues only. True. True. It took in nearly three billion at the box office in 2009. Three billion. That's insane. That's worldwide. Three billion. That's stupid Avatar movie. That is crazy. I can't. I'm not an Avatar fan. I watched the first one, avoided the rest of them.
SPEAKER_02The Avatar World at Disney is just not good.
SPEAKER_00I just watched Sam Worthington in a Netflix.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, I saw that one coming out. Did you watch that one? I didn't get to watch it yet. What is that?
SPEAKER_00Don't watch it. The book is so much better.
SPEAKER_02Oh, well, I don't read that book. I don't read books either.
SPEAKER_01So yeah. Oh, well, then you can watch it. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00It's uh I will find you. Yeah, I will find you.
SPEAKER_01So I'm almost done with uh the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders season three on Netflix.
SPEAKER_02So we have something, yes. Don't read, but watch that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly.
Watch List Picks And Next Year Spin
SPEAKER_01Um, and Joanne, I started watching that one you mentioned last week, Maternal Instincts. Oh, did you? I'm like 30 to 40 minutes into it, and I'm just like, how does this woman get away with like all this nonsense?
SPEAKER_00You have no idea.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I know. I just keep watching because it just keeps getting more and more and then you'll listen to the podcast. So, Dave, yeah, she pretends like she's uh just gave birth to a baby when she gets pulled over by cops, and she obviously didn't just give birth to a baby, but she sticks by the story that she just gave birth to, and just all this other bullshit that she goes through and like just it's crazy. Wow. This woman's like completely psycho. That's insane.
SPEAKER_00She has no grip on reality.
SPEAKER_01Wow, none, none. And I just don't know how people like that walk across the street by themselves. I just don't get it.
SPEAKER_00Tell me after you've watched it.
SPEAKER_01Okay, yeah, I'll finish it off probably tonight because I'm yeah, I'm about 30 or 40 minutes into it. And it's only an hour and a half.
SPEAKER_02I did see a trailer for something I wanted to see. What was that? Uh Clara and the Sun. I don't know if you've seen this trailer. What's that? It's an independent one. It has uh the the girl from Wednesday. Um I can't remember Christina Ricci. Yes, no, the other one.
SPEAKER_01Jenna Ortega.
SPEAKER_02The new one. Yeah, there we go. Um she plays a automated friend, an automated friend, an AF. And uh, but they're all they're like robot friends, and that she's one of the older models, and it's funny. It's pretty it looked pretty good, actually.
SPEAKER_01It looked an original story, so it looked like a Netflix thing or it looked like it was going to be a theater thing.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. Yeah, what's it called? Uh Clara and the Sun.
SPEAKER_01Okay, we'll look that up.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But the trailers looked pretty good. And then the new Spider-Man's coming out, and I can't wait.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Another one.
SPEAKER_01I was told I needed to watch the last Spider-Man movie in the out of the three with with what's his name, Tom Holland. That's a good one because all three Spider-Mans show up. Right. That's what I was told. It's really good. It's on I might watch that tonight. I didn't see the second one in the series. I saw the first one, but I didn't see the second one. I was told the second one wasn't very good.
SPEAKER_02No, it wasn't because that had Jake um Jillenhall in it. Oh, okay. And uh the role that he played was villainous, and I don't know, and it was supposed to he played a villain, Mysterio, and it was kind of one of those yeah, it it it was a struggle, I think. Okay. To get through.
SPEAKER_01So Spider-Man the Long Way Home, is that what it's called? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Enchanting the way something home.
SPEAKER_02Spooking the home. Because everything was home. There's homecoming was the first one. The second one was uh away from home. Far from home, and then yeah, the third one. Yeah. The fish under the sea. Yeah. Homecoming.
SPEAKER_01Yes, the everything comes back to the back to the future. Enchanted. Enchantment under the sea. Enchantment under the sea. Right, right. There we go. Nice. All right, Dave, are you ready to spin?
SPEAKER_02I am. I have it all. We're going from there.
SPEAKER_01Back to the future.
SPEAKER_02Where's my volume?
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I was doing my back to the future joke.
SPEAKER_02Well, I did spin. It says 1996. 96? Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00I feel like we just did 97.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, didn't we do 97 just a couple years ago?
SPEAKER_02We can do that one. Oh, we can spin again.
SPEAKER_01Are you gonna get it?
SPEAKER_02My volume is not working. I don't know what's going on with my volume here.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_01It's not an official spin if we don't get to spin.
SPEAKER_00Can I choose? Can we do 1884? No.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_00No one. No one. Where did that one come from? I don't know.
SPEAKER_02What is that? There we go. There it goes. This will be an official one. That's funny. 1976. Okay. That's funny. From 1776 to 1976. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's great.
SPEAKER_00That's perfect. Only can reflect on how amazing the line centennial.
SPEAKER_02Right, right. Perfect.
SPEAKER_00I'm excited. Let's go.
SPEAKER_02Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, you would be Joanne. All right. Joanne's got a heart out, so she's got to get out of here. Yeah, we gotta get her. I will see you guys next week. All right. You bet. Bye.
SPEAKER_00Don't carry the chokes.
SPEAKER_02Bye.
