Do you remember what happened in 1997? Sports, Fun & Games, Wanted: Dead or Alive, Paranormal, Celebrities & Murder and Mystery (3 new topics!). Well, we are here to remind you of what happened that year!
1997. Alright, so I'm already in the shit house for the week.
SPEAKER_05Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_02So I I have multiple things I've just screwed up and I do my best to to do everything I can do to make my wife happy. But I don't always succeed.
SPEAKER_04No.
SPEAKER_02So the the first thing goes back to two episodes ago when we were talking about 1977 and I had wanted dead or alive. And oh I kind of forgot to mention that, yeah, my wife was born that year.
unknownOh no.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, exactly. So that that's that's that's sleep on the couch right there for that. And then today we uh there's a new post on on YouTube, a new video that I put up. Uh I tested taste tested the Dairy Queen Cinnamon Toast Crunch dipped ice cream cone. Right. And I shot the video, and and my intention wasn't to shoot the video for content for the YouTube site. It was just to my son and I had just gone to the CVS and picked up some prescriptions and we're all like, hey, let's swing over to Dairy Queen. It's right there on the way. And then, you know, because we're going to get car the wash, wash her car and vacuum it out and clean her car for her. So we were on the way to that. So we go through, we pull into Dairy Queen, go through, and I take the first bite, and I just go, I say to my son, I should be recording this. And I took my phone out and I'm like, all right, here's the review. Because it was like I was disappointed so quickly that I'm just like recording this. Yeah, just gotta let everyone know. You're doing a service. So go, so go to YouTube and you can watch the video of me doing my review. No spoilers. The Dairy Queen Cinnamon Toast Crunch ice cream dip ice cream comb. Yeah. So and then I got in trouble for that because then she wanted to know why I didn't bring her home one.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, why didn't she get anything?
SPEAKER_02And it wasn't the last, it wasn't the last stop on our journeys. We still had to go to the car wash and Walmart and go to these other places. So it wasn't like, you know, oh dare it wasn't like we were heading home from Dairy Queen. Because if we were heading home from Dairy Queen, yes, I'm gonna bring my wife a Heath Barb lizard, which she absolutely loves. Of course. I know what to get her, I know what to get your babe.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you knew she got that one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I know what to get her. Anyway, so yeah, I'm just in the doghouse right now. And yeah, so that's how my week, my week has started. How about you, Dan? Yeah, it's only Tuesday. And it's only two and it's only Tuesday and two strikes. Two strikes.
SPEAKER_04You still got one, and you still got to get through the week. Right. And get through the week. I got one more to bring out.
SPEAKER_01It's okay. Yeah, things are good. Um, we've had a lot of random stuff happen in the area lately.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_01I think I told you guys we had the house blow up.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yes. Yeah. Good video. House pool in Julian's neighborhood. Oh my goodness. Do we and we know why, or meth? Or was it no, not methane? Oh, it was a meth kitchen.
SPEAKER_05Wasn't it a meth kitchen?
SPEAKER_04Okay, okay. Well, mark that off my bingo cover.
SPEAKER_01That's what everybody asked, and I'm like Right. Well, you have to go. The first thing you have to do is boil the gas. Yes. There's no gas to a boil. Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_04And once you bring it to a boil, methane. Was it a propane explosion?
SPEAKER_01Yes, no, not methamphetamines. It was methane. Yes. No, um, so the hypothesis, definitely it was a gas leak.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Wow.
SPEAKER_01The hypothesis is that the big storm we had the night we podcasted. Yes, right? We had like five storms that day. Yeah. They're thinking that lightning may have struck uh the piping from the propane tank.
SPEAKER_05Really?
SPEAKER_01Because the guy who installed the propane tank and knows the the people was just devastated that this had happened.
SPEAKER_05Well done.
SPEAKER_01But he said that guilty. Yeah, he's he said that they used flex piping instead of flexi seal?
SPEAKER_03I think that's what it was. Yes, the spray on.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, not that. But some kind of flex piping instead of traditional better piping.
SPEAKER_03Okay. So is he gonna be liable?
SPEAKER_01I don't believe so. No. I think it was act of god.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah. That's what they in terms of calling it. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yes, but they they they think something like that happened, and because we lost power, maybe their pilot lights went out. Anyway, they woke up in the morning and turned on the stove and everything is everyone okay though? I mean they it's an older couple and they were Medevact to San Antonio.
SPEAKER_02We're joking. But they're okay because they apparently won like a billion dollars in a lottery contest at one point.
SPEAKER_00So that was a different couple.
SPEAKER_01It's always an older couple here because that's like everybody who who lives in the city.
SPEAKER_04So basically, you and Mark moved there to die, is what you're saying. That's right, yes. To be an older couple, okay. You gotta get out of here.
SPEAKER_01That's how right.
SPEAKER_04That's exactly. We're done. I'm done. I'm ready. I'm ready. We're done. This is where we go.
SPEAKER_01I'm so old. This is where everyone goes. Yeah, but that was that was really crazy. And then we've been having these random power outages. As you know, sometimes like the other day, they were happening live on air.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, but in the middle of the night, the power's been going out, and then like everything screeches back on, right? Like the lights are flickering, the buzzing of this, the beeping of that.
SPEAKER_02You sure it's not paranormal activity? Aliens.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm about to think it might be.
SPEAKER_02Because I have paranormal on my list tonight, one of the new categories. That's exactly what it is. Just in time.
SPEAKER_01So we got this new bed, right? And it's got the adjustable thing, you got the nectar, the mechanism. The nectar, yes, it's got the mechanism. It's all spin dive. It has like a light you can turn on in the middle of the night to see, like under the bot the bottom of the bed, so you can see in the dark. And last night at 3 12 a.m. when the power came surging back on, my bed is going crazy, like it's going back down to its original position.
SPEAKER_04It's blinking on it. So you got a rave going on under your bed.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god. That can kill you in the middle of the night, right? You don't know what's going on. So it's moving. Man, so I called the power company, and this is why I love living here.
SPEAKER_02And mine was just my ceiling fan turned on when the power came over. Okay, anyway.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I have another story about ceiling fans. But um, I called the electric company and she's like, uh no, just tell me what county you live in. I bet I know exactly what you're calling about. Uh-oh. And she did, and she goes, My boss lives right down the street from you. I'm like, I know. I don't, she's like, I don't know why he didn't tell me about this. Such a small town. I'm like, I'm telling you, such a small town.
SPEAKER_02Good lord.
SPEAKER_01Such a small town.
SPEAKER_02But my friends are having a whole time you take a poo, obviously they can't.
SPEAKER_01They can watch the water spikage. Like, it's so small. My friend is having an issue with their ceiling fans because evidently these ceiling fans that she has and a couple other neighbors have are all on the same frequency, like a garage door opener. They're not the fan will randomly go on, and theirs will like go up to high and they can't figure it out. And so yeah, it's this big fan conspiracy. Again, the paranormal activity.
SPEAKER_02Fan spiracy. Well, I told Dave before before we came on. Mine today was I I I have like blackout curtains in my in my bedroom, so it's dark in my bedroom.
SPEAKER_04He means it black, like completely dark.
SPEAKER_02Because I sleep during the day, because I'm up all night. Obviously. And so we put in a new ceiling fan about a year or so ago, and it has the light on it is an LED light, and when it you turn it on, it's on the brightest setting, and it is bright. And then you can dim it down to you know, whatever. And so I was like asleep, and I was woke out of my sleep, and I'm just like immediately squinting, going, Why the fuck is it so bright in here? Like I'm thinking like, did my wife like open the drapes and the blinds? And I didn't like slept there. What the fuck? And then I'm like, oh, the power flickered and went out. And so every time our power goes out and comes back on, it resets my computer that we record on, which is why we took forever to get on tonight. And they won't know that. I know they won't know that. Okay.
SPEAKER_05But behind the scenes.
SPEAKER_02But then the ceiling fan automatically turns on to its highest setting, the spinning fan and the brightness when the power comes back on. So I'm like awoken out of a sleep to like, oh my god, bright tornadoes happening in your room. I'm like staggering around the room trying to find the remote control to dim the light. Lovely. Turn it on.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that just does not sound awesome.
SPEAKER_02No, no, it's it's that's one of the worst ways to be woken up, I think. Yeah, yeah. Just like bright light shining right in your face. Yes. You've been drinking tonight, sir. No, I'm just sleeping it off. No, just sleeping, just sleeping off.
SPEAKER_04Just taking a little nap.
SPEAKER_02All right, Dave, what do you got?
SPEAKER_04I had a wine dinner. Ooh, the wine dinner. Oh, end of the month wine dinner. That's right. Yeah, it was it's been a while, uh, only because of just circumstances. Um, it was not great. It was okay. All right. And it was because of of everything happening, the price was a little high. So we think we're gonna kind of dial it back from the wine dinner. So like maybe just yeah, just kind of give them a chance. Well, give them a chance to kind of get their legs back under them because it seemed a little off this time around. Right. Um, and I just I I don't know. I don't know what was happening, but it was not spectacular. I don't drink. I know you don't know. Because I know you give yours to your wife, right? Um, but yeah, they the the wines were fine. Uh Lisa got a couple. Jackie was there. Jackie was there. Jackie. It is Jackie. Um, but then um, but it seemed like there was a lack of food. Like usually when we go, Lisa is complaining about being stuffed, like the third one in, and there's five or six, usually. Oh, yeah, being like, oh, I can't even. She got to the end and she was fine. And Jackie, of course, we're still hungry. So yeah, we needed to stop for something for her because she's like a bottomless pit. So um yeah, she just constantly will eat, there's no problem at all. But yeah, she didn't feel full, so it was kind of like, and I was like the same way. I was kind of like, well, that's kind of weird, but but yeah, so it was kind of interesting. I don't know if that was just this specific meal or not.
SPEAKER_01Eating out is just not the same anymore.
SPEAKER_04It's kind of weird, it's all over the place. I mean, he kind of hit or miss usually, but it was that. And then um, we had a tree limb fall out of one of our trees at the front of the house, um, and just a huge, huge limb. So it just looks like weird now that the tree is still there. Like missing part of it. In the middle of the tree is just dead in the middle now because it just fell right out of it. And I just think it's because the tree's getting old, it's been there since we moved in there in 96.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_04So it's been, you know, growing and gotten aged. Um, and so it was just how it grew, and it just kind of fell out. I mean, we didn't have any weather or anything really.
SPEAKER_01Um some of the trees just don't last as long. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02The trees in my neighborhood and my yard are so freaking old that's like they could collapse at any minute. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you've got to always watch yours. You gotta you're surrounded. So yeah. That's why I bought a chainsaw. Yeah, oh, that's perfect. Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_01If you lived in Texas, the Texas AM lady would come out and talk to you about your trees.
SPEAKER_04Oh, really? Just she just do that for free. Oh, wow, really. I would love to get some information on ours. So I think we're gonna have a guy come out and he's gonna invest or investigate the tree itself. It's if it's saveable, if there's some trimming we can do to kind of keep it, but more than likely it's gone, and we'll just have to get it.
SPEAKER_01You should call like Virginia Tech's ag extension or something and have them come out. Yeah, that's what we do with yeah, because we've got an extension here.
SPEAKER_04Okay, yeah, that'll probably yeah, we'll probably figure that out. Tree talk. And then I was watching uh Spider Joanne.
SPEAKER_02That's a whole nother podcast. Tree talk uh tree talk. I will I'll record it for you, but I will not participate. Branching out, we'll branch out to a a new line. Oh branch out. I got it.
SPEAKER_04Leave it alone. Um, so uh I was watching the spider noir. I don't know if you saw this when Nicolas Cage came out this uh this last week. I actually like it. The story is a little slow to get into it. I'm in episode three and it's still kind of getting there. Um, I like the spider stuff, so it's kind of cool. But it's it's filmed in that film noir kind of style, which is why it's called Spider Noir. Spider Noir, because his character, that's his whole thing. Uh, when it was the multiverse, Spider-Man the multiverse. Um, one of the characters was him, the spider noir guy. Oh, right. And uh and he's all black and white. Now they actually filmed it in color, and then you can also watch it in black and white. I'm watching it in black and white. It's pretty good.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I would totally watch it in black and white.
SPEAKER_04I have to, yeah, just to kind of see, and then I'll I'll check the differences afterward. But it's pretty good. I the story's a little slow uh getting into stuff, and it's not like action, action, action, action. It actually is trying to build up the story and the background and everything. So they're getting the villains and the characters and everything. So yeah, it's it's pretty good. I like it. How are you doing with Silo, Joanne?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I have not gone back to that. Oh no.
SPEAKER_02Season's coming out, right? Isn't that a new season coming out? I watched that. I watched the second and I think third episodes of Widows Bay on Apple TV. Oh, I meant to watch that. It's good. I I'm enjoying it.
SPEAKER_01So you know what I watched? I texted you.
SPEAKER_02What? Which one?
SPEAKER_01Company Retreat. Oh, right.
SPEAKER_02Company Retreat. That was really funny. So funny. Did you finish it?
SPEAKER_01Yes. And I watched the reunion.
SPEAKER_02They they did him good at the end, like you know money-wise, and they took care of him. Oh, exactly. Is that what you get?
SPEAKER_01Did they get that gem of a human being?
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it was like he knew what was going on. He had no idea. But I'm like, how what Tem would go in there and just like take ownership of all this? I mean, he is like a star employee.
SPEAKER_02And he was only going to be working there for it was like on a Wednesday they hired him, and on a Friday he was like, okay, we're going to the retreat. Yes. That's good.
SPEAKER_01I mean, bless his heart. He is amazing, and I hope he gets a really awesome job from this or does something on his own. Or he is great. Yeah, because now he's unemployment.
SPEAKER_04I would hire him. Right. Because he went through all that and now he's unemployed.
SPEAKER_02Oh well, I'm sure he got a online blew up. I'm sure he's had offers, had his personal health in general. So yeah. Marriage proposals. Right. Yeah, yeah. He's just such a great guy. More than likely. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01He's so awesome.
SPEAKER_02Cool. And did do we have any corrections for last week? I only had the one. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Unless you guys had something that you were thinking of. The first Avenger. Uh-huh. We never finished that. It's Chris Evans. Right. Yeah, Chris Evans was a good thing.
SPEAKER_02We went to Chris Chris, and then like we went on to the next one. I went to the next movie, and it was just like that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it was Chris Evans. It was Chris Evans.
SPEAKER_02See, we do listen back to our own podcast. Yes, yeah. Right.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02All right. So this year we've got, or this week we've got the year of. It's early. Watch the the Dairy Queen review and watch the very end. Because I could say I say skin dive instead of spin dive. Oh. And then I make the joke. I'm like, oh no, that's my OnlyFans page. Sorry. There we go. Nice.
SPEAKER_01Or like the AI music is spin div, spin div.
SPEAKER_02Spin div, spin div.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, no.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_01Is this that hard?
SPEAKER_02It is.
SPEAKER_01It is.
SPEAKER_02Gotcha. So 1997, flashing back. Now, again, 97 doesn't seem that long ago, but it kind of feels like 30 years ago. It's almost 30 years ago. Yeah, I was childless. Yeah, that I can't. Because I can still remember things vividly from that year. I can't. Yeah, vividly. I have no clue.
SPEAKER_00Same as I will go into.
SPEAKER_02It's like all new to me. Okay. Well, I had I had sports this year. And of course, when I when I looked the stuff up, I was like, of course, I remember watching that. I remember okay. Michael Jordan won his fifth NBA championship. Okay. So the Bulls, that was when the Bulls were like at the top of the heap. I mean, they were like they had Rodman. And he went and had Pittsburgh. He went on to win a sixth, right? Yeah, he did goof. Okay, so yeah. So they they right. Okay. So yeah. So they go like Michael Jordan crushing it in ninety-seven.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh the Florida Marlins, um, shocked with a World Series win.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you can barely get a fan to come to the games now.
SPEAKER_02I know. They they completely closed their entire upper deck because that nobody really played. Well now they're now they're the Miami Marlins. Is that right?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I think it is.
SPEAKER_00I think they did decide to come to Miami Marlins.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's baseball. It's baseball. Uh it was the inaugural season of the WMBA.
SPEAKER_04Oh, wow, really?
SPEAKER_0230 years ago. That seems like the WMBA seems like that was like 10 years ago.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh wow.
SPEAKER_02Not 30.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I was like, and they're still trying to get it in some cities, and it really still hasn't like taken off.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I don't know what the numbers are on it, but that's uh uh so in hockey news in Stanley Cup, the Detroit Red Wings who were crushing it in the late 90s, again, they after being sucky for so many years in the 80s, and then they came back into the 90s. And so the Red Wings won, and it was the week later that two of their players were injured in a limousine accident. Um yeah, it was one uh one of their defensemen's and one of their forwards um that uh let me was it at the victory parade? No, but it was like later that night, I think. Oh, or something like that celebrating. They were all celebrating, yeah. Oh, it was Vladimir Konstantinov and Vachislav uh Fatisov. Oh, yeah, so Fatisov and Konstantinov. Yeah, they were you know Russian party. Is that what it was?
SPEAKER_04Well they hey, you can't do one crazy guy. Who knows?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Uh and then yeah, the limo got in an accident, and neither one of them ever played hockey again because they broke their legs and were gone at one sustained a head injury.
SPEAKER_04It was a limo. What was the limo doing? Normally you think a limo, you don't think it's going like speed, super ass. Yeah, but that would be that kind of a thing.
SPEAKER_01If they're flying around in the back, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04Maybe, but then even still, it's it's a limo. Like there's distance between if he hits something, there's distance in between them getting legs broken.
SPEAKER_01I mean, but you know how people like to like get go out the sunroof. Remember that was a huge big thing. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Exactly.
SPEAKER_03Ejector seats. Yes. Yes, yeah, there we go.
SPEAKER_02I wonder if that was I maybe, but still, just kind of, yeah, and lay in the back of the limbows like the lengthwise, the other way, not crosswise. Or facing sideways, yeah, or like lay on the sit on the floor. You know, they're in weird spots, and so if you get in an accident, God knows where you end up. Yeah. Because you're not, you know, seat belted in. Exactly. So that's crazy. Uh, Tara Lipniski. Lipinsky Lipinski. Lip. Sorry. See, I can't talk today. Anyway, she was 14 years old and she captivated the nation with winning the world figure skating championships. Good for you. 14 years old. Where is she now?
unknownI don't know.
SPEAKER_01She was just on Traders.
SPEAKER_02Was she? Oh. Well, but she also does all the Olympic coverage.
SPEAKER_01She does all the Olympic coverage.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's Tara and what's his name? Johnny. Johnny. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Do you know on Traders the people didn't know that they were best friends? I know I've talked about this before, but it just floors me. Like, if you watch the Olympics, you know, and they're like, Yeah, we work together occasionally.
SPEAKER_05Right.
SPEAKER_01Y'all are freaking best friends. Everybody in the world knows that, except for these Black. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02If he wasn't gay, they'd be married.
SPEAKER_01They would be. How close they are. Exactly. Legit, they'd be married.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. Um, and then the last thing I've got in sports is in Major League Soccer, our home team, DC United, winning their second consecutive uh MLS championship. Nice. A meat scene. Yeah. So that was all all the big sporty stuff. I don't know. I left golf out, I left VR and I don't know whatever.
SPEAKER_04Usually there's a whole tennis section you guys go to.
SPEAKER_02The only reason I mentioned the NBA was because it's Michael Jordan. I mean the goat. I mean you cannot beat Jordan. That I mean everyone knows Jordan. LeBron, whatever. Right. Jordan's always the best, the greatest. All right, Joanne, you have a dead or alive. Cool.
SPEAKER_011897. 1997 marked the birth of my child. Oh.
SPEAKER_02There you go. You won't be in the doghouse all week. Shout out to the dog. Yeah, you made it.
SPEAKER_01Shout out to my girl. She'll have to listen.
SPEAKER_04Yes, there we go. You get that. Yes. She may not hear it this week, but other people who were born.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01Jacob Ellerdy.
SPEAKER_04Who?
SPEAKER_01Cindy Sweeney.
SPEAKER_04Wait, wait, who was the first one? Should we know that one?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, should we know that one? Okay. Yes. He is very hot right now. And he is dating Kendall Jenner.
SPEAKER_02Is that his claim to fame? I thought Marty Supreme was dating Kendall Jenner.
SPEAKER_01Oh. Yeah. He's dating Kylie. He's dating the model. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02There's a whole bunch of shuttle. I've never watched the show. I I could not tell you which one it was. It's hard to tell you.
SPEAKER_01He's dating Kendall.
SPEAKER_02Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_01So wait. Barbie's Supreme C and Kylie.
SPEAKER_02Chloe, Kendall, and Barbie. And what was the other one? Kylie?
SPEAKER_01Kim Ky Kim.
SPEAKER_02Chloe. Chloe.
SPEAKER_01Courtney.
SPEAKER_02Courtney.
SPEAKER_01Kylie.
SPEAKER_02Kylie. Kendall. Okay. Kendall. Okay. There we go. Okay. Yes. Wow. Kylie's a lot of Kingdoms, man. That was Kylie Jenner. Considering I've never watched a card. Like naming the dwarves. That was very cool. Seven dwarves.
SPEAKER_01Kylie was born in 1997. Dopey.
SPEAKER_03Daisy, yes. No, Daisy. Davy. That was you. Oh, that was me, Davy. Dopey.
SPEAKER_01Um, Kylie Jenner was born in 1997.
SPEAKER_03Oh, there we go. There we go.
SPEAKER_01So, but Jacob Ellergy, he was just in uh Frankenstein. He was in Wuthering Heights. He was in Euphoria, Saltburn.
SPEAKER_02Gotcha, which we have watched.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. And his co-star in Euphoria, Sidney Sweeney, was also born in 97.
SPEAKER_02I don't see her appeal, by the way. Really? Like everybody's like, oh my God, Sydney Sweeney, all I am like, she's just a big pair of boobs and a blonde, a blonde with big boobs. And I'm like whatever.
SPEAKER_04I went, wait, come on. No, iconic to no, whatever. That's hard pass. Okay. Hard pass.
SPEAKER_02She won't join. Sorry.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, sorry.
SPEAKER_01Um, Chloe Grace Moretz. Do you know her?
SPEAKER_04Yes. No.
SPEAKER_01Okay. She was she's an she's a little actress. Yeah. She's been in a lot of stuff. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Gotcha.
SPEAKER_01Um, Maisie Williams, who is Area Stark in Game of Thrones, which you would know if you had watched Game of Thrones.
SPEAKER_02Game of Thrones or the Kardashians. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Correct.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, see, you've missed both those. Yep.
SPEAKER_01Some musicians. Classics.
SPEAKER_02Classics.
SPEAKER_01Young Cook, who's evidently a super popular BTS guy from K-pop. He was born in '97.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Camilla Cabello.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Uh Lisa, who I did not know of Colt Jam? Yes.
SPEAKER_02Oh, Lisa of Colt Jam. Lisa Lisa. She was born that.
SPEAKER_01Lisa Lisa. Lisa Lisa.
SPEAKER_02Nisa.
SPEAKER_01She was in uh Blackpink.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01Another K-pop uh and uh Noah Cahan.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01You know Noah Cahan? Nope.
SPEAKER_02No. I don't know any of these people.
SPEAKER_01You don't know Stick Season? That's a great song.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I hate that song.
SPEAKER_01That's probably my wife.
SPEAKER_02Okay. That's why I didn't. Well, that's him. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Anyway. So they're all turning 30 next year.
SPEAKER_02But you gotta also hold pause for a second. Joanne loves train, and I fucking despise them. So that there's there's musical stuff that Joanne and I don't agree on, but then there's stuff we we have shared loves for like Depeche Mode and New Order and The Cure and the Yeah. It's just the mood. It's just the mood. Right. Okay. Okay. Sorry. Sorry. Okay, okay. Unpause. Go back to you.
SPEAKER_01Unpause. So some people we lost.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Yes.
SPEAKER_01And some of these I might have have some crying because they affected me so deep. Um, Jeff Buckley.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Tragic. I I was up for 24 hours straight after that happened. Yes. I I'm I need help on that one. Jeff Buckley recorded one album called Grace, and it is probably one of the best rock albums. It's definitely probably one of the top 10 best rock albums.
SPEAKER_01You would recognize him. Would I? Because he sang uh Hallelujah, right?
SPEAKER_02He did, he did the Adelaide-Cohen version of Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um Last Goodbye was the single that was on MTV. And uh I can't remember. Lover You Should've Come Over was a oh, that's one of my favorite. Actually, I think I think Hallelujah in to Lover You Should've Come Over is like the best, like 14 minutes on any record. Like 14 minutes a lot. Yeah, it's back to back. Back like one six minutes and one scale. All too well. Maybe not for maybe it's 12 minutes. But anyway, you get the it's over 10 minutes. Oh so it but it's the best 10 minutes like that you'll hear. It's just amazing.
SPEAKER_01So he had um pulmonary embolism in his leg.
SPEAKER_04Wow.
SPEAKER_01Thrombosis, FYI people.
SPEAKER_04Yes, get your veins checked. Get your veins checked. Get your veins checked. PSA.
SPEAKER_01Um Jacques Cousteau. Oh no.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's a Jacques Cousteau.
SPEAKER_01Jacques Cousteau, John Denver.
SPEAKER_02John Denver, yep. Couldn't find the pull harness on his escape pod from his plane. Died in my life.
SPEAKER_01Jimmy Stewart. Jimmy Stewart. Oh, Jeremy Stewart. Notorious B.I.G.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Shot dead.
SPEAKER_01Gianni Versailles, she also shot dead. Versace.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Now we get to some really sad ones. Well, Mother Teresa.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah. Okay. She died in 97. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Chris Farley.
SPEAKER_04Yep. Yep.
SPEAKER_01Now I'm gonna cry. Okay. Michael Hutchins from NXS.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. Yeah, that one was devastated. Yes. Absolutely. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01But the biggest one. Uh-oh.
SPEAKER_02Oh, there was one bigger than Michael Hutchins. Bigger than that. Wow. Bigger than Farley.
SPEAKER_01Princess Diana. Oh. Oh, that's right.
SPEAKER_02That was definitely.
SPEAKER_01And that's why Reagan's middle name is Diana. Oh.
SPEAKER_02Oh, everybody got it. There it is. A little touch. That was it on an up note. Touch it on Dale so well. That's why we do it early. God, why did that live be so depressing? That's why we get them early. We put Deader Live in early and the funny story.
SPEAKER_00I would knock it out. And then we can do fun stuff.
SPEAKER_02Right. And Dave's got fun and games.
SPEAKER_00Fun and games. Please get away, Dave.
SPEAKER_04So we get into Tamagotchi territory. Oh my god. If you don't remember this, um, it was uh created in 1996, but they started selling them in the next year. They sold over 40 million of them. That's crazy. In two years. I had one. And it's the stupidest little thing. It is the worst. Um the name comes from being a combined uh meaning egg watch because it was shaped like an egg. And it, I guess it's it did have the time on it. Did it? Yeah, that was one of the functions that actually did it. Yeah, because over time your thing would die or whatever would happen to it. Right. Um you could name your Tamagotchi. It was born on the idea of a childhood uh desire to bring a pet onto a vacation. Oh, okay. So rather than it be your pet, you brought your digital pet.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_02Because you have to feed them and just your day if you don't feed them uh for two days or something, and then yeah.
SPEAKER_04And then we went through our combination of PlayStation slash Nintendo slash PC battling out for your your video dollar, video gaming dollars. Um the video games themselves were $49 to $59 at the time. Which was insane. We thought it was crazy. $50 for a video game. We were like, wait a minute, what is going on? In in layman's terms, right now, they would be worth $100 to $120 in the $97 in the $97. Yes. So like, yeah. Because of inflation. Adjusting for yeah, inflation. So that's how much they need. That's how much it would be. $100 to $820. Yeah. Yeah, the pixelated whatever's um, yeah. Um we had a couple of uh wait, hold on, hold on.
SPEAKER_02To answer Joanne's question, games today are normally $69.99. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So they haven't gone on crazy, but they probably had to keep it.
SPEAKER_02The bonus version it's usually like $119. But then the base version is $6999. And there's in-game purchases. But anyway, okay. All right, good. Sorry.
SPEAKER_04Um yeah, so um the dig uh the dual analog dual shock controller first came out. Oh, yeah. Which was the double uh joysticks, which totally insane. Yeah, um yeah, so that worked out well. Um they uh the original when it came out was without the uh vibration.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_04And they said dual shock. Right, the dual shock part. Um but later on in in the year in October, that's when they released it, uh, because they had to perfect it because what was happening was it was destroying the controllers. So the the original one the vibration was causing problems. It was just destroying the system. It basically is like putting a bowling ball in a water unit that spins inside it, yeah, to create the feedback to it.
SPEAKER_02So have you ever seen that video?
SPEAKER_04Which one?
SPEAKER_02The one where the guy puts the bowling ball inside the dryer and then plugs it in and starts it, and the bowling ball just rips the dryer apart. No, you've never seen that? Oh all right, I'm sending that to you after the show. Thank you. Thank you. Have you seen it, Joanne? No, oh my god. I'm sending okay, yes. Some of the more popular games right after the show were Final Fantasy VII.
SPEAKER_04We had the Golden Eye. Uh that was Goldeneye coming out then. I thought you had mentioned that before.
SPEAKER_02No, 97 sounds right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Uh Super Mario 64, Tomb Raider, your Grand Turismo. You were trying to get me to load that one the other day. Uh Diablo, Fallout, and Star Fox 64. Um, we saw the rankings for the um the c consoles where Sony was number one with uh PlayStation at 17 million. Yeah. Uh Nintendo Game Boy was number two at 10 million. Yeah. And then the next one was Nintendo 64 at 9.4. So yeah. And we had a bit of news. Okay. Um, scenes from a Pokemon anime caused 685 children to have seizures in Japan. What? Basically, what it was was the animated series had us had a um uh episode that had one of the characters in it, I guess, function in it, and it caused seizures from what it was doing in its battle, I guess. I don't remember it, but it was um the character was a was called uh polyg oh what is it? Uh Porygon. Basically, he looks like a polygon duck or bird, basically, uh put together. Uh they that character has not been seen again in any Pokemon series because of this whole scenario of what happened. 685 kids. I it's that's kind of crazy. Um the other uh fun and games that we saw happening were mega concerts. Um the Ozfest was one. Yeah, uh Rockfest, Blockbuster Rockfest was the one that I loved. Wasn't that that was that was earlier? That was earlier, yeah. Because I was that '92, '93? Yeah, I was high school uh when I went to that one.
SPEAKER_02Well, I graduated in '90, so it had to be before that.
SPEAKER_04It was. Yeah. Because I was uh oh god, where was I? I guess I was a junior when I went to my first one. Yeah. I don't know. Whatever. That was done. I didn't go to it. Because that was a RFK stadium. Yeah. And then we had um kids were uh unplugging uh and using the portable CD player, which boosted uh skip protection. Right. Because if you were actually running around with this thing, it would skip based on uh because it's just a light uh shining onto CD. So it was easy to do. Oh, it's a laser Dave. I'm sorry, it was a laser. So the laser was jumping off the track. So that was kind of funny. Um, or you could uh use your uh giant cassette walkman to unplug.
SPEAKER_02All I ask for is giant giant cassette, shark sharks with lasers on lasers. That's all I ask for. It's a discman with lasers on their hands. Lasers. So there we go. Cool. All right. Well, my next is a brand new category. We added it to the spinner last week. At dinner tonight, my wife goes, Oh, so what? I'm so excited. Oh, he oh, he was giddy. He was okay, giddy, giddy. At dinner, my wife goes, Oh, so you guys added new categories. What are they? And I'm like, I don't know. And she goes, Well, did you did you get one? I'm like, I don't remember. Did I? I hadn't, I don't think so. And then I did. So I have I have I have paranormal as my first there's so much out there, and I see so many videos of ring cameras capturing craft.
SPEAKER_04Um so hit us. Hit us with some good paranormal.
SPEAKER_02All right. So the iconic UFO sightings uh and telephone or sorry and television shows were exploring the supernatural that year. Yes, beyond. Um so because and paranormal activity was released in theaters. That was the first movie that happened that year. So I was like, wow, I thought there was a movie that was actually um it saw a huge surge in real-life ghost documentaries. Um were so yeah, a bunch of shows, you know, like following stuff. The Phoenix Lights on March 13th, 97, one of the most famous mass US UFO sightings in the US history occurred across the American Southwest between 7 30 and 10 30 p.m. Uh, and this was over Arizona. Yes. You could reportedly um see a giant V-shaped craft uh and glowing orbs gliding across the night sky. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04There were two different incidents in Arizona. Yeah, in uh Phoenix, Arizona. Uh it was two different incidences. One of them was unexplained.
SPEAKER_02Right. The V. The military says that that was Operation Snowbird.
SPEAKER_04And it was an official orbs and basically uh okay. Um the orbs were basically light flares. Yeah, light flares that happened to line up because of the weather.
SPEAKER_02And the people that saw it are like, no, you don't think so. I'm not buying it.
SPEAKER_04They're kind of yeah, exactly. But the V-shape still has yet to be um defined. Like they don't they don't have an explanation for the V. Which is weird. Huh. So which happened it two hours before the flares did. Oh, really? Yes, it was at eight o'clock. See, because it's mystery. Oh, so Dave's got this in his okay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but anyway, we'll get to that. But it's paranormal. So it's I know it is.
SPEAKER_04I I yeah, I know that I didn't I didn't have to even think of that.
SPEAKER_02Do you have the San Pedro haunting on your no, I don't. Oh, okay. We can talk about it.
SPEAKER_04Because that was a haunting thing in that state. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So San Pedro, California, there was a widespread attention brought to this, and there was a documentary called An Unknown Encounter. Uh, and it talks about um the activity was a single mother, Jackie Hernandez, and her children uh were plagued. Oh, why what happened? Oh, uh knocking, oh, knock plagued by knocking inside the walls, flying objects, and other mysterious pools of water flowing from light switches.
SPEAKER_01Whoa.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So they were in the house and that was that was the stuff that they saw. The yeah, the shit.
SPEAKER_01Terrifying.
SPEAKER_02Crazy.
SPEAKER_04So bad plumbing and magnets.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, pretty much, probably. Couple mirrors down the hall. Yes, just at the end, just to reflect the back. Yeah. Yeah. We figured it out. We debunked that. Yes, we debunked that one. Yes, that was quick. Mystery solved. Also on TV, there was uh strange but true and sightings and beyond belief with uh ghost stories, yeah, and like different, you know, it was definitely a lot of heavy stuff that year. That in in paranormal. I would literally when I went to search, I was like, oh, paranormal stuff from 97. There's not gonna be anything. I was like, oh shit. Telling you we we debunked the San Pedro. Oh, we got that knocked out, no problem. So anyway, so that was my paranormal spooky interesting.
SPEAKER_01I guess there's always been, I mean, Bigfoot has been around for centuries. I guess there's always been I was wondering.
SPEAKER_04Who? Who? Bigfoot?
SPEAKER_00Bigfoot?
SPEAKER_04Oh, I'm joking. I went to Seattle. It was everywhere in Seattle. They actually, it's a it's like it's it's on everything in Seattle. It's okay, Joanne. I didn't follow the joke either. But it's okay.
SPEAKER_03So you made it essentially anyway.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so Joanne, you have celebrities. That was also a new category. Do all three of us have new categories? Yeah, I guess mine is in the case. Okay, these were all three new categories. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we each of us have one, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Right, Joanne's got celebrities. Right.
SPEAKER_01So I was like celebrities, but then I was like, I feel like some pop culture needs to be in. So I'm gonna redefine it from celebrities to celebrity.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_01Things that were things that were popular, people who were popular, a celebrity. No? Okay, okay. Anyway, I don't know I I'm following.
SPEAKER_02I am not following anything. Everything's going right above my head. I am just I am there. Game one of the Stanley Cup's on. I'm like, let's wrap this up. I want to get back to the game.
SPEAKER_01Does anybody have movies this week? No, nobody has movies. We're all good on that.
SPEAKER_02So so you can piss away all over anybody's categories.
SPEAKER_01Um Titanic came out in 1997. So that kind of started Leonardo DiCaprio's celebrity. You know, men in Black came out, so Will Smith got into the game, yeah. Ellen de Generis came out as gay. So she that was like her year.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um Buffy the Vampire Slayer came out.
SPEAKER_02That came out in '97?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_02The series or the movie? Well, the movie was first. So the series. The series. The series. The series. The series ran for what, like seven seasons or something? Very big, very big. My wife loved it. I've I've never watched it. And my wife re-watched that recently with our daughter. They watched the entire series and and had their little mother-daughter uh bonding. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um one thing I have not heard from either of you yet is Tickle Miyammo.
SPEAKER_02Oh, is that the Ticko Miyelmo year?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because I got one. Oh, I had one and I tried selling it, and nobody would give me $300 for it. Oh, well, that's you know, self-explanatory.
SPEAKER_00Shocking.
SPEAKER_02And I was just like, but that's what they were going for. They were going for like three to five hundred dollars. And I said, and I was like, well, I'll go low, $300, and nobody, nobody bit. And I'm like, Yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_01So um so I got stuck with a two minimal. Harry Potter debuted with his first book.
SPEAKER_03Yep.
SPEAKER_01Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
SPEAKER_03Oh, okay. I thought it was the Sorcerer's Stone.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I think it was the Okay, the book.
SPEAKER_04It was Philosopher's, but it is? Yeah. And then when it came over, they matched it. They matched it to the movie, which they can.
SPEAKER_01Because Americans don't know what a philosopher is. Maybe. Yeah. No.
SPEAKER_02I literally had that book in my backpack for uh I forester. Yeah. I don't know. Okay. Anyway, moving on.
SPEAKER_01Um Handson came out in '97. And Elton John had a resurgence because of Princess Lady. Oh, right. Yeah, Candle and the Wind. Candle in the Wind.
SPEAKER_02Yep, absolutely.
SPEAKER_01So I I just felt it necessary to um bring up some of those things as we talk about celebrities.
SPEAKER_02Gotcha.
SPEAKER_01You know. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I'm doing my own thing. Things that went. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01No, good, good, yeah. Exactly. Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_02Keeping us all off guard. Well, it was a brand new category, so you could have done whatever you wanted anyway.
SPEAKER_01Didn't really live.
SPEAKER_03Yep. Oh, yeah. He still is.
SPEAKER_01Tyra Banks was the first article that was illustrated. He is. It's true.
SPEAKER_04Still is.
SPEAKER_01It's true.
SPEAKER_04Dreamy.
SPEAKER_01Um, oh, and and speaking of paranormal activity.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01X-files.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Was was on in 97. And Mulder and Scully, I it's I mean, I'm sure I'm wrong about this, but they were like the first couple that weren't a couple that I remember everybody being obsessed with them in the TV.
SPEAKER_02Because they're not a couple. They're just they're just on the case. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Right. Right. But they weren't meant to be a couple. They were just they were so like, yes, Scully, Mulder. Yeah. Last name, very proper. Right.
SPEAKER_04So I I'm seeing things that will they will Yeah, they're gonna bring that, they're bringing that out again. They're X-Files are coming back around.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they're getting Oh, did you see that Zack Snyder is gonna direct a remake of um Escape from New York? Oh no, really? I I do not feel good about that. It's just gonna be all fucking like uh CGI, like and it's just like dude, the whole reason Escape from New York was a classic is because it was shot like in city streets, in like oh my god, in the city.
SPEAKER_03When they had Escape from LA and they used which was terrible. Oh, yeah, well they did horrible in it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they tried to screen to some shit. So I'm I'm a little afraid that I'll watch it, but I'm I'm not expecting it well.
SPEAKER_04That's kind of how I felt when I watched Running Man. Oh, which I still haven't watched yet. No, you won't like it. Okay. Um maybe I will because I like it. Okay. I think you might like it because it tells a different story, but it kind of isn't true to the other one. So yeah. Okay. But it's not supposed to be true to the other one. It's supposed to be true to the other one. And I get that, and that's fine. The Stephen King novel. I get that, but I don't think that's how it played out.
SPEAKER_02Okay. All right. Cool. Well, I'll I'll watch it and then we'll read the first one.
SPEAKER_04Running man with Stephen King?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Wrote the original because Stephen King hated the Arnold Schwarzenegger version because it was nothing like the book. Ah. Okay. But I enjoyed the Arnold Schwarzenegger one. I didn't.
SPEAKER_01Who wrote the book?
SPEAKER_04Stephen King. Stephen King.
SPEAKER_01Oh, he did. Okay, and he hated the movie, the way the movie was.
SPEAKER_02Right. And then the new one that just came out is supposed to be clubs. The guy who wrote it. He he wrote it an adaptation from the book. So it's more like the book is. Because he grew up a fan of the book and the The movie and wanted whatever. That's a whole other that's that's somebody else's podcast.
SPEAKER_04Yes, yes, the the spin-off of the spin-movie died.
SPEAKER_02So do you have any more celebrities, Joanne? Or was that were you good? Nah. So Dave, Dave's topic, also, the third new topic, right? Or category is murder mystery.
SPEAKER_04Murder mystery, which I have thought it was more like. I thought it was gonna be like that, not murder mystery, like everything's about murder.
SPEAKER_01I like murder and mystery.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we can do that.
SPEAKER_01It's all about the murder.
SPEAKER_02Yes, it can be a murder mystery or it can be murder and mystery.
SPEAKER_04I was going with murder and mystery when I when I brought it up. Because that's why I had the Phoenix lights.
SPEAKER_03It's one of the mysteries of unexplained.
SPEAKER_04I did not think it was gonna overlap paranormal because I was I don't know why I was thinking ghosts only, but yeah, so that's how I kind of went with it. But there was that. And we've already went over all that. It was the um an A10 warthog that was dropping uh intense, high intense flares and for the round of the people were just like, no, that's not yeah. So that was that. But then um I did find this one, um notorious B.I.G. The mystery behind that was that the mystery of who actually uh you know, actually saying he was killed, but yeah. We do now we know they were saying what? Diddy. They say that the mystery behind him actually getting shot was that it was a drive-by shooting, but they didn't have anyone at the time of who actually got shot. Like right.
SPEAKER_01I think he and Tupac was all Diddy.
SPEAKER_04Really? On both sides, huh? Because that started an East Coast, West Coast rap thing. Yeah, rap feud. Yeah, yeah. So there was a whole thing about that. But the mystery behind it was that um uh a lawsuit was brought up, uh, $400 million lawsuit against uh LA police because it was believed that the LA police were involved and that they were the reason behind it. Like covering it up or something, it was a whole thing.
SPEAKER_02Did you guys watch the P. Diddy documentary on Netflix? No, it came out like a month or two ago. I watched it. It's a four, it's four parts, and each part's like a I think an hour. Okay. But yeah, it was yeah, I always I always knew he was a piece of shit, but I mean no. Like you were like, yeah. And and so the uh the way that they got because 50 Cent bought all of the footage that the cameraman shot of all the stuff building up to it because Diddy didn't pay the cameraman, and so the cameraman was like, All right, highest bidder, I'll sell him. 50 Cent's like, I'll buy it. Yeah, and 50 Cent bought it, and then they cut it into the documentary and released it, and then Diddy's pissed because, like, well, you should have paid the guy. That's one of the things.
SPEAKER_04He would have had the video in the documentary.
SPEAKER_02They talk about is how how many people he didn't pay. Oh and he was very like if he could cut you out of something, he would cut you out of it and not think twice about it. Wow. If it was more money in his pocket and less than someone else's, then he would take it. Oh, wow, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's I think what what caused the strain between him and and notorious BIG.
SPEAKER_04Oh, was that the payment, yes? Well, you know, yeah, there was just a lot of his his business stuff messy. Yeah, yeah, wow. Really messy. Well, it's a crossover with all that. Um so and then I also had another mystery. Um, the bloop is what this one's called. I don't know this one. Basically, what happened is uh a ultra low frequency underwater sound was detected by NOAA, uh National Oceanagra Oceanography, ocean oceanic. It's okay, settle down. Yeah, yeah, no. National Oceanic sound like your words.
SPEAKER_01An atmospheric agency.
SPEAKER_04Atmospheric agency. Uh on a hydrophone, they picked up this sound, basically an an ultra-low kafunk kind of thing, the bloop, and uh they picked it up on two different microphones 30 3,000 miles apart. Um it was far louder than any known underwater marine animal. Huh.
SPEAKER_02So, okay. You know what it was? What was that? It was aliens plunging into the water to recharge their systems to fly. Or pick up some water. To pick up water, because they're hydrogen based. That's how they're so they just plunge into the water, it refuels their system, and then they get the hell out of it.
SPEAKER_04More than likely, that's what it was. But in 2012, in 2012, it was found uh a those little little treasure chests at the bottom of uh opening up in bubbles can be. Exactly in the bubbles can be. Yes, and the diver and the little diver can be. Like we can see it. Yes, and I can't even see it, and I knew you were doing it. Um though it um in 2012 it was found that an exact copy of the sound was recorded, and it turned out to be an ice quake. And basically what this is is the cracking off of one- ice quake? It was the cracking off of one of the ice plates uh or the wow uh on in Antarctica.
SPEAKER_02I at the ice rink I work at at the end of the night when I'm walking out, especially in the summer, you can hear the ice crack. Right. And it it literally sounds like someone taking uh a hockey puck and just slamming it down flat on the ice. On the ice it's just like a pshun. And it's just like I'll be walking out, I'm like, oh, the ice just cracked. Okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_01What do you do about that? Nothing but like do it to fix it. It'll get it. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_02It it's it's it's like a settling thing. It's not it's and it's on the underside, it's not on the top of the ice, it's gotcha underneath now the yeah. So ice corner.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm very into this ice quake situation now. Yeah, let me um investigate.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, perfect.
SPEAKER_04More ice quake. Gotta know more about the ice quake. Um, yeah, so it was basically just an iceberg uh cracking off of the uh off the ice shelf.
SPEAKER_03Amazing. Oh interesting.
SPEAKER_04Was that the last mystery? That is all I had.
SPEAKER_02Okay. We're gonna play Cast List. Oh, perfect. I'm pulling a card. I will give you the movie titles. Okay. Ooh, this one might be. I think for the two of you, this might be hard. My wife would get this on the first on the first. Oh, it's telling that your wife would get it. Wet Hot American Summer, Mean Girls, Blades of Glory, Baby Mama, and Inside Out. Who's the actress?
SPEAKER_01That girl.
SPEAKER_02Yep, exactly.
SPEAKER_01That girl. She was the mom in Mean Girls. I always forget her name.
SPEAKER_02And she was also a Saturday Night Live cast member.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, on Saturday Night Live. She kind of looks like Polar.
SPEAKER_02What was that? Polar. What did you just say? Is it Amy Polar? It's Amy Polar. Polar, huh? Oh, okay. I think you were thinking of Tina Fan.
SPEAKER_01No, you know who I was thinking of? The one who was in um the movie where she was the house mother at the sorority.
SPEAKER_02She wasn't ever on SNL.
SPEAKER_01What's her name?
SPEAKER_02Oh, you're um she was on the mom show.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, she was on the mom show too. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02Oh blonde. Yeah. She was married to Chris Pratt.
SPEAKER_01Yes, married to Chris Pratt. Oh my god, why is her name escaping?
SPEAKER_02Oh, we've got phones. How come we can't look this out? Meanwhile, everybody's all like, uh, yeah, dipshits.
SPEAKER_04How about I spin? And you can look that way up.
SPEAKER_02Well, did you want to do some did you want to do some true false real quick?
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah, that's true false. Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so these are these are from the Mount Effer Everest, or sorry, Mount Cleverist is the name of the game. Uh these are all excited there for a second.
SPEAKER_01True false geology.
SPEAKER_02And this is and these are all movie edition stuff. Right, right, right. It's all movies. All right. Kristen Bell voiced Rapunzel in Disney's Tangled. No.
SPEAKER_04Who was it?
SPEAKER_02That's false.
SPEAKER_04No, it was the singer. Um, I can't remember her name either. Kirsten voiced Anna from Frozen.
SPEAKER_02Madeline and Moore voiced Rapunzel. Singer. And Anna Ferris is the actor fair. Anna Ferris.
SPEAKER_01Of course it is. Okay. Of course it is. All right.
SPEAKER_02Batman director Tim Burton owns one of the world's most valuable comic collections. True or false. True.
SPEAKER_00False.
SPEAKER_02That is false. Tim Burton once said, anyone who knows me knows I would never read a comic book.
SPEAKER_04Wow, really? Wow.
SPEAKER_01I guess you really don't know him. I don't know him. You know who has the um collection I was just reading?
SPEAKER_05Who?
SPEAKER_01George Lucas. And he has some big museum that's opening up in LA later this year.
SPEAKER_05A comic book. Okay.
SPEAKER_01And it's got like a whole wing of comic books.
SPEAKER_05Wow.
SPEAKER_01It sounds like a really cool, and it's because the Star Wars exhibit. I mean, it sounds like a very interesting thing.
SPEAKER_02I saw the new boo starfighter that they're hanging in it. Yeah. I saw that. It's yeah. Wow. How did he get his hands on that? I don't know. He made it, probably. I'm joking. Okay, anyway. Howling Howl's Moving Castle. I don't know what Howl's Moving Castle is from 2004. Yes. Okay, is set in Japan. No. That is correct. It's false. It is set in the fictional kingdom of Ingri. Right. Ingry. And they're at war. Was it an anime thing, Dave? Yes, it was. Howl's Moving Castle, yeah. Holes from 2003 is set at Camp Green Lake. True.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_02No, it's true. It's a fictitious dry lake bed in uh Texas. Oh. They were looking for treasure.
SPEAKER_01Okay, that makes more sense because I'm like, there was no water there.
SPEAKER_02Right. All right.
